About the Academy
Built on a legacy of education, leadership, and the belief that every person can lead.
Stroud Leadership Academy was born from a simple but powerful idea: that every person, regardless of background, deserves the tools and opportunities to become a leader. This conviction traces back to the Stroud family and the enduring legacy of K.D. Stroud, who believed deeply that education is the foundation for personal and community advancement.
The Academy is a community outreach and giveback initiative of the Stroud family, rooted in Colorado but reaching across continents. Through coaching and mentorship programs operating in the United States, Africa, and Brazil, we develop leaders who think critically, solve problems creatively, and leverage digital literacy to drive change.
Our work is connected to a broader family of initiatives including RACE the Opera, which tells the story of Dolphus Stroud through the performing arts; Stroud Scholars, which supports educational advancement through scholarships; and Running to Harvard, a documentary following the pursuit of excellence.
Together, these initiatives form a comprehensive approach to empowerment — one that honors the past while building a future where leadership knows no boundaries.
The K.D. Stroud Legacy
